just because
because i'm bored/taking a break from essay writing/thinking, i'll make a random list of the most obvious differences of life here and life in brunei.
well i can't really think o much else. will post em if and when i do think o something. better get back to my academic thoughts now.

- its prefectly fine to go to lecture in your pajamas. more so when you have the ungodly 8am classes.
- you are responsible for your own body; what you eat, what you drink, what you consume and not consume. its you have a conscience and logical mind, then great. if not, say hello to college through the haze of booze and beer belly.
- there are actually things to do here if you're bored. you can take a walk outside, do some volunteering, go to a library, go to the mall, ride a bus, cycle, sit on the lawn and stare at passers by or the sky, count the endless take-outs deliveries and dine ins. even in the middle of the night, come rain, shine, or snow.
- nobody tells you what to do. funny how that can be problematic at times. because you don't know what to do in your so much spare time. homework? lounge around? chores? movies? you keep track of your own life. nobody cares if you don't. you need to make things matter. its not as fun as it seems sometimes.
- there are squirrels everywhere.
- television is overrated. why bother with MTV when you have the real thing in a sorority house a few blocks away.
- you're a scholar? big deal. you're rich? big deal. you're smart? big deal. one attribute does not make you top of the class. you need to be able to speak up and communicate, otherwise you're invisible.
- there's pizza everywhere.
- there is more to music than MTV. what you see on television is mainstream garbage.
- americans are not as stereotypic as we think they are. only if you know the right people that is.
well i can't really think o much else. will post em if and when i do think o something. better get back to my academic thoughts now.
